Abstract

Organic waste management remains a significant issue in both urban and rural areas. One such issue is in Pandak Hamlet, Wijirejo, Bantul. Compost is a natural fertilizer made from organic waste that is often used in farming and gardening. Composting is a method for properly processing organic waste, thus reducing environmental pollution. The goal of composting is to improve soil structure and reduce the accumulation of organic waste in the surrounding environment. The method used is a live demonstration of composting, starting with material selection and processing. This is followed by a discussion explaining the benefits, components, and techniques of composting so that participants can understand and practice it. Compost has been proven effective in supporting plant growth and increasing the pH of acidic soil. This program is expected to help address the problems in Pandak Hamlet.
