Neurovascular imaging in trigeminal neuralgia: Protocol and parameters of MR angiography and MR Venography
Keywords:
MR Angiografi, MR Venografi, Neuralgia TrigeminalAbstract
MR angiography and MR venography examination techniques were performed using gadolinium contrast media with MR angiography sequences in the form of ax DWI, cir 2D PC vas, ax 3D TOF and cast 3D TRICKS. In MR venography, a sequence of ax DWI, cir 2D PC vas and cor TOF was used. This is different from the MR angigraphy and MR venography examinations at the radiology installation of RSUP Dr. Sardjito Yogyakarta which does not use gadolinium contrast media and only uses sequences in the form of ax FLAIR SPIR, ax DWI, MRA 3D TOF and MRV 3D PCA. The purpose of this study was to determine the reasons for not using gadolinium contrast media for MRA and MRV examinations in Trigeminal Neuralgia cases at the Radiology Installation of RSUP Dr. Sardjito Yogyakarta. This study used a descriptive qualitative type with a case study approach conducted at the Radiology Installation of RSUP Dr. Sardjito Yogyakarta in May - July 2024. The results of this study indicate that MRA and MRV at RSUP Dr. Sardjito Yogyakarta are performed without contrast and without 2D PC sequence because 3D TOF MRA and 3D PCA VEN sequences can provide an informative intracranial vascular picture in cases of trigeminal neuralgia.
