About the Journal
The International Conference on Women, Family, and Disaster highlighted the interconnections between gender, family dynamics, and disaster resilience. The conference emphasized the unique challenges faced by women during disasters, including increased caregiving responsibilities and limited access to resources, as well as the crucial roles of women as leaders and decision-makers in disaster recovery and resilience. Studies presented showed that social capital and community support networks enhance disaster preparedness among women. Additionally, other social sciences such as sociology and social psychology provided insights into how social structures and interpersonal relationships can support family resilience. In terms of biotechnology, innovations in health technology, such as new medical devices and reproductive biotechnology, were discussed as means to improve the health of women and families in disaster situations. Gender-inclusive policies in disaster risk reduction were discussed, with feminist advocacy playing a key role in shaping international agreements that emphasize gender equality.

Research presented in the proceedings emphasizes the importance of social capital and community support networks in enhancing disaster preparedness among women. Contributions from social sciences, including sociology and social psychology, provide additional insights into how social structures and interpersonal relationships can bolster family resilience.
The proceedings also explore innovations in biotechnology, such as health technology and reproductive biotechnology, which are identified as key tools for improving the health of women and families in disaster contexts. Additionally, the analysis of gender-inclusive disaster risk reduction policies is a central theme, recognizing feminist advocacy as a driving force behind the development of international agreements that prioritize gender equality.
